Service was terrible, they added a 20 percent tip to the bill and they never refilled our drinks. They leave you waiting at the door because the servers are also bar tenders. Hot wings are not hot wings just normal wings with sauce on the side.
My girlfriend and I visited this place on Saturday night, Nov 15th, after hearing so many people talk about it. Let me say this clearly: none of the hype is true. The service was absolutely terrible from the moment we sat at the bar. There were three bartenders—two girls and one guy—and somehow not one of them seemed to know how to take care of customers. We were literally ignored for about 25 minutes, even though they clearly saw us sitting there. When we finally managed to order, things got worse. The staff didn’t even seem to know their own menu, and the food had no flavor at all. The drinks were a complete disaster. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, and it tasted nothing like a real one—way too much lemon juice, way too much Coke, and totally out of balance. My girlfriend’s Espresso Martini was just as bad. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. Poor service, untrained staff, tasteless food, and awful drinks. Definitely not worth the time or money.
The food was awful. The steak was tough, completely inedible, and had zero flavor. Everything came drenched in this strange sauce that ruined it even more. The fries were just as bad. I’m honestly so mad I wasted my money here. To make things worse, they automatically add gratuity — probably because they know the food and experience are terrible. Overall, a complete waste of time and money.
The staff were very friendly and nice to talk to and provided some great suggestions for the food. We ordered a large steak with fries and sauce and the taste was incredible. Music was nice and inviting, definitely coming back. Thanks!
Great food and prices. Love the atmosphere, right in the middle of Newark’s Ironbound section. Friendly service and good vibes all around. Try the sangria!
I was in this place on Sunday August 24, I had great expectations, with my family we frequently visit the restaurant that is a few streets ahead with the same name (Casa Nova Grill) and we thought it was something similar, but it was not. Much to be improved in the service, waiters who do not know the menu they offer, they leave you waiting at the door and do not seat you at the table. The food completely different, no taste, meat hard, juices without sugar, sangria without good taste, bad beans and their specialty Paella pretty bad. I understand they are just starting out but these things need to improve otherwise it will continue to be only 2 tables on a Sunday at 6:30pm.
Lucky find on a Friday night featured live music, great food and excellent service. Well worth making a detour in Newark to head into the Ironbound to dine, we’ll be back.
We were walking down Ferry Street when we heard live music coming from this new restaurant and decided to stop in and were so glad we did! The atmosphere is beautiful, with a modern design and a great vibe that made us feel welcome right away. The food was outstanding. We ordered the calamari and garlic shrimp both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. To top it off, the owner, Jose, came by our table to personally greet us and make sure we were enjoying everything. That kind of hospitality really stands out.
